Short Description
I began traveling in 2009, but my journey as a travel writer started on October 1, 2016, when I launched my first travel website, GoArif. My first destination was Jaflong, one of Bangladesh’s most beautiful natural attractions, located in Gowainghat, Sylhet. I traveled there with my elder brother, Mehedi Hasan, and one of his friends. It was an incredible experience, and looking back, that trip inspired my lifelong passion for exploring new places and sharing those experiences with others.
I’ve always felt a deep connection with nature, and my first trip to Jaflong gave me an unforgettable experience. Located in Sylhet, Bangladesh, Jaflong lies along the Bangladesh-India border. From the Bangladeshi side, you can see India’s famous hanging bridge and beautiful waterfalls. Along with tourists, you’ll also find local workers collecting stones from the river, a scene that has become part of Jaflong’s unique identity. As you explore the area, you’ll pass through lush betel leaf gardens, where the vines gracefully climb the trunks of areca nut trees.
Jaflong sits at the foothills of the Khasi and Jaintia Hills, with the crystal-clear Piyain River flowing through its breathtaking landscape. The colorful stones scattered along the riverbank are among its most iconic attractions. Standing at the Bangladesh border, you can enjoy panoramic views of the towering hills of Dawki in India, while the cascading waterfalls beneath them create a truly spectacular sight.
After visiting Jaflong, I realized how deeply nature inspired me. It felt almost like an addiction – one that made me want to explore more places and experience the beauty of the world. At that time, I hadn’t started writing or building a travel website, so I simply captured photos and videos, saving them on my phone and computer as memories of each journey.

In 2010, I received the British Council Award in a Skills Competition for my innovative project, the Automatic Electrical Machine (AEM). This award recognized the outstanding innovation behind the project and remains one of the significant achievements of my career.
